The LLP must also ensure that its books of accounts are updated and maintained regularly throughout the year to ensure accurate and timely filing of the annual returns. LLPs must maintain their books of accounts as per the provisions of the LLP Act, and they must be audited by a Chartered Accountant in India.

Non-filing or delayed filing of annual returns can result in penalties and fines imposed by the MCA. The LLP may also lose its active status, which can impact its ability to conduct business and access financing.
